Sidney Black Investigations is committed to protecting the privacy of our clients and subjects. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information in accordance with the Personal
Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and all relevant Ontario or Canadian privacy laws.


1. Collection of Personal Information


We collect only the personal information necessary to deliver our services and operate our business, such as:

  • Payment details

  • Case or incident details

 

We collect information through direct interactions, such as:

  • Forms on our website

  • Email, phone, or in-person communications
     

We also collect information in the course of an investigation in accordance with all applicable data collection laws, including, but not limited to, the Criminal Code of Canada.

We use your personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected, including:

  • Meeting legal and regulatory obligations

6. Retention


We retain personal information for a minimum of two years after the relevant service has been concluded, in accordance with requirements set by the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005 (PSISA).
After this period, all copies within our control are permanently deleted.

Our website may use cookies to enhance functionality. We may also use other technologies to collect metrics about website usage. This data contains no personally identifiable information.


8. Changes to This Policy


We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website with the effective date clearly stated.

 

If a change to this policy affects how we use or disclose your previously
provided personal information, we will notify you at least thirty (30) days in advance of the change taking effect.
